But Chaki! I thought you hated him. ;-)

I should try and show up, though. Hmm...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 2 November 2002 00:09 (twenty-three years ago)

i dunno Ned... im kinda warming up to him.. he's like a retarded little brother you just wanna hug.

chaki (chaki), Saturday, 2 November 2002 00:12 (twenty-three years ago)

Astounding! But such is the glory of opinions. :-) Now me personally, some things DON'T change...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 2 November 2002 03:36 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh yeah, I'll be there. Ned, let's do a CD-R trade! I want that Disco Inferno singles collection I've heard you made. I've got, though I dunno what you could possibly need, MBV's "Sugar" on that french import (i.e. cd-quality, not flexi or mp3). I have tons of glitchy stuff too.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Sunday, 3 November 2002 03:29 (twenty-three years ago)

awesome spence.. looking forward to seeing ya. if i can sell enough cd's ( since im broke )then ill get you a vodka martini dry with a twist. ned gets a shirley temple. (jk)

chaki (chaki), Sunday, 3 November 2002 23:53 (twenty-three years ago)

If I can make it! The chances are going to be small, but we will see. :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 4 November 2002 00:34 (twenty-three years ago)

no pressure!!

chaki (chaki), Monday, 4 November 2002 00:43 (twenty-three years ago)

Chaki, what time do you go on? early or late? Ned, get your act in gear!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Monday, 4 November 2002 18:19 (twenty-three years ago)

i go on at 9pm

chaki (chaki), Monday, 4 November 2002 21:26 (twenty-three years ago)

see you there, I'll be the one yelling 'rockist' accusations.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Monday, 4 November 2002 22:53 (twenty-three years ago)

bring sexy women!

chaki (chaki), Monday, 4 November 2002 23:12 (twenty-three years ago)

I will be there in spirit. Even if I could readily go up I've had a full day and a splitting headache...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 4 November 2002 23:32 (twenty-three years ago)

So I went last night and can confirm that Chaki is highly entertaining (and an extremely nice guy to boot!!!). The equal parts Timbaland and Jesus and Mary Chain inspired cover of TLC's "Unpretty" was the obvious highlight. I think I was moved to down 3 cocktails during that song alone. I even bought his CD (and Chaki, you still owe me a martini).

Now the real question is, can L.A. do a proper FAP???

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 5 November 2002 21:52 (twenty-three years ago)

One definitely needs to happen around here, yes. Maybe you should all brave seeing me down in OC. ;-)

That show sounds great! I will definitely one day see the man In Action. :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 5 November 2002 21:55 (twenty-three years ago)

Spencer Chow is a gentleman and a (musical) scholar! I owe you 5 martinis. Now if you can get me that Galaxie 500 tracklist...

chaki (chaki), Tuesday, 5 November 2002 21:57 (twenty-three years ago)

Ready?

Tugboat
King of Spain
Flowers
Pictures
Parking Lot
Don't Let Our Youth Go to Waste
Oblivious
It's Getting Late
Instrumental
Blue Thunder* *(without Sax)
Snowstorm
When Will You Come Home
Another Day
Isn't It a Pity
Victory Garden
Ceremony
Fourth of July
Listen the Snow is Falling

-It's weighted towards the early stuff and covers. It's about 81:15 minutes (i.e. it should fit onto one disc if you enable overburn). Again I'd be more than happy to hook you up.
