I'm tempted to say "The greatest radio sessions album, bar none." In fact I think I will! almost every song here is played with a ferocity that tramples their studio album equivalents, particularly the cuts from Bossanova. 15 tracks in 35 minutes! It also manages to hold together brilliantly as a single set. In all honesty my enthusiasm for the Pixies has faded a lot over the years, particularly in regard to their post-Kim material, but this album still fucking delivers.

Tough call. These were great sessions, plus these were most listeners first time hearing these songs which usually came out on record later.

this is far too difficult. every time i try to pick something i just end up thinking, "but wait, what about...". that said, i feel very compelled at the moment to go with either letter to memphis or hey.

I'd be tempted to go with Wild Honey Pie as it's such a ballsy way to start an album and it made such an impression when I first bought it (even if that impression was something like "What the fuck is this I've just bought?")
