A year ago I defined the music in my head and the year later they've come out and i've been shooted .. they were great and I wonder what changes Interpol could get them or us realised ? (their unique talented sound, fabolous lyrics and their English-post(ed?)-punk-look style in NY.)

lost in translation? (c'mon, whose gonna be the first to say that interpol'd be lots better with fabolous lyrics?)

(ps. has someone already called the strokes et al "poster-punk"? seems like an obvious enough joke.)

I heard they sound like Joy Division!! Is this true???

interpol would be a lot better with different music too, mitch.

chumped!

interpol would be a lot better with different music too, mitch.

I was debating whether or not there was something that would truly justify Interpol's current status as my favorite album of the year. That comment has. Thanks, jess!

(Note that this is not necessarily a refutation of Jess' opinion but a reaffirmation that since Jess seems to be disgusted with nearly all things rock that Interpol must surely be a shining example of said genre, which I am still foolishly enamored with.)

it's not Post-Wave (which is rather funny), but instead it should be called Nü-Wave

JasonD, Sunday, 3 November 2002 19:02 (twenty-two years ago)

what does this mean about murray street, patrin?

Josh (Josh), Sunday, 3 November 2002 19:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Er... uh... shit.

Nate Patrin (Nate Patrin), Sunday, 3 November 2002 19:09 (twenty-two years ago)

(That was in "shit" as in "help I don't know", not "shit" as in "that is what Murray Street is - a big stinky ol' pile-o-poo". I am being pathetically parenthetical in this thread.)

go look at that clever guitar and drums entering at song 'Obstacle 1' after Paul's shouting "but it’s different now that I’m poor and ageing I’ll never see this face again you'll go stabbing yourself in the neck " [01.25]that really has genius ...

hmmm.... you sound like David Bowie leading the Pixies through the works of Echo & The Bunnymen? You're college rock, buddy! Interpol is college rock!
