I just stumbled across Kari Faux's Lost en Los Angeles lp on Spotify last night during a particularly fruitful rabbit holing session. It's compact, so I've been able to listen to it several times since then. She doesn't remind me of anyone, which is a rare goddamn thing in popular music. "Supplier" is my immediate favorite track, but the whole album is just win after win.

Julianne Escobedo Shepherd put up an interview with her last Thursday at The Muse (http://themuse.jezebel.com/a-chat-with-rapper-kari-faux-the-debut-of-her-excelle-1783999021), so I'm looking forward to reading that as well.
