I put the two unspeakably bad ones at the top to weed out anyone who wasn't taking the poll seriously.

this is between Koffi Olomide and Salman Khan imo. The Salman Khan video punches a whole lot of my buttons but the Olomide has a super sweet guitar figure running through it, I don't know enough about highlife to know if it's in that style but it puts me in the mind of the really deep-groove stuff I've heard that was categorized as highlife

Khan probably takes it those drums are massive

can we just post african songs with sweet guitar grooves on this thread

all of these songs are better than kim kardashian's book "selfish" or momus's similar, even worse attempts to explore the seflie's relationship to portraiture in art history

who was first? I always thought that the Chainsmokers had the OG selfie song

the only non-chainsmokers one i'm familiar with is kero kero bonito, that song is awesome. kinda psyched to listen to the rest

ive always thought the chainsmokers song was great

I find the Chainsmokers song appalling in a number of ways, but the Mark Thomas song is really something else. What looks like a topless 12-year-old boy singing "Can you take a selfie for me / Post it up real sexy for me / Let me know that you're ready for me" - don't think I can even bear to watch it again. Should add this to the worst of 2016 thread.

Didn't vote for Salman 'cause he has killed at least one guy, possibly more, but it's the best song.

I quite like the Nina Nesbitt song despite myself-self-self.
