Magazine. This isn't even a competition, IMO!

Yes, you're right, Buzzcocks obviously.

I'd like to vote in this but I'm a bit afraid that if I did I would be Shot By Both Sides. *ducks*

Magazine for the main set, Buzzcocks for the encore.

i love them both. prompted by watching that first video up there, which does a lovely job of contrasting devoto and shelley. near the end of the video (36:20) is a really amazing clip of devoto joining them, post-split, for "i can't control myself". devoto makes this really awkward announcement that "this isn't nostalgia" and shelley tells him to use the other mic. that's probably an infamous clip but i hadn't seen it before.

the "Buzzkunst" album Shelly and Devoto did together in 2002 has its moments.

I was looking at Shelley's wiki page and saw this:

"Pete Shelley" is also the title of a short story by Patrick Marber contained in Speaking With the Angel, a short story collection edited by Nick Hornby. In the story, the narrator loses his virginity while listening to a Buzzcocks song.

which seems appropriate, it's harder to imagine a short story called "Howard Devoto" where the narrator loses his virginity while listening to a Magazine song

Oh I remember that story. 'Orgasm Addict'.

Magazine takes this pretty easily for me.
