Luke Slater s/d?

Surprised there's never been a real Luke Slater thread yet, figured he deserved one. Have been listening to bits from the new Planetary Assault Systems album which sounds pretty promising, but have been digging into his back catalogue and never knew all of his other aliases or how prolific he had been.

Where's a good place to dive in - either under his own name or others? Or, on the flip side, any to avoid?

I have 'Alright on Top', and that's it. I suspect it's not all that representative of his catalogue in general.

Only heard 'The Four Cornered Room' of the 7th Plain stuff but rate that and love the 'Freek Funk' album.

Ooh, Freek Funk is the only thing of his I have and it's pretty great - I'd recommend it if/when you see it in the dollar bins again. I've never heard of the Lloyd alias and don't really know the 7th Plain, but I see it's more of an "ambient" leaning and was recently reissued....I'll take a listen.

Very good 7th Plain review on Pfork by Philip Sherburne today. Anyone pick these up yet?
