Me and the NY Times say it's !!!

"The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, a local group, played Irving Plaza on Thursday. It should have been the group's night — the lead singer, Karen O, is known for putting on odd costumes and screaming, and this was Halloween — but the Yeah Yeah Yeahs found themselves upstaged by another local act, an octet called, !!! (sometimes pronounced, "chik-chik-chik"). The group created a series of jagged, stripped-down grooves, and when the set was over Tyler Pope, one of its guitarists, dashed over to the East Village club Opaline, where he played a propulsive D.J. set."

so did !!! move everyone out to New York from Sacto or was this just a one-off show?

didn't the times recently call Erase Errata a NY band or was that the village voice?

I think so. I know this is the case on the Out Hud side, and I'm 99% sure that it's true for !!! as well.
