i thought this aesthetic had been on its way out.

i have a beard, drink microbrews and occasionally camp, but this stuff is the fucking worst. i think where I live (Colorado) is the center of it all.

It has painfully long legs, though Milford going big rock on their last record was a pretty big signal that it's trending down.

There's a show on the ABC here (basically our BBC) all about obscure Australian country towns which uses "Fire and the Flood" as the credits music, and I can't think of a more comprehensive example of "city people romanticizing a myth of rural life".

(I don't really associate either this kind of music or Lamb of God with microbrew-drinking campers. I mostly associate this music with middle-class teenagers, esp girls. it's perfect for festival audiences who might not know the band playing, but who can easily figure out when to telegraph emotion alongside the people around them
