they were so good live last night that my bassist & I were completely freaking out. like, every song was just hired-assassin hitting-every-spot stick-the-landing great. there's one song where it sounds like the drummer's playing in 6 and the band's playing in 4 and it all works, I asked them later and they said "well, yeah, it's actually in 4 but I know what you mean" and I was like man this band is something.

yeah he is a monster. very unassuming performance style, just doing the work, but watching his focus is genuinely inspirational
