The Everly Pregnant Brothers ‘Chip Pan’

Would buy this if it was called "Chip Pan Fire", but the rest of them can all fuck off.

Please tell me Cruz Beckham sings like Troy Hess

11/4 – Parliamentary Choir/Friends Of Jo Cox, ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’

anyone else think this is a particularly troubling choice of a song? not just because it became donald trump's election anthem but lyrics about demonstrations, abuse, blood and death seems a little, uh, on-the-nose for a tribute to someone murdered in the street

Rush Limbaugh and Lou Reed doing sex with your parents (bizarro gazzara), Friday, 16 December 2016 15:45 (eight years ago) link

Well, I've not heard it yet, I assume the lines about Jimmy looking ill, etc, are changed or dropped.

Mark G, Friday, 16 December 2016 18:30 (eight years ago) link

I think its called "Chip pan fire"

Or "Oh... Me chip pan's on fire...."

Mark G, Friday, 16 December 2016 22:57 (eight years ago) link

I like people evoking chip pan fires, so this has got be good!

calzino, Friday, 16 December 2016 23:11 (eight years ago) link

I once had a friend did a flit after leaving a "ring of fire" burnt into the kitchen ceiling at some shithole rental prop. No fireman's wrath, just leg-breakers sent by the landlord to make it right.

calzino, Saturday, 17 December 2016 00:04 (eight years ago) link

Not that the legbreakers were effective, they were even more comical than the clowns in that vid.

Apparently its 'selling' more than the Cruz Beckham one, already.

The London Hospices Choir’s The Living Years had an early lead - however both they and Matt have taken major tumbles already.

Yesterday’s midweek sales flash showed Matt in fifth place with When Christmas Comes Around, while the choir is all the way down at No33.

Of the other songs being backed by various campaigns, Inspiral Carpets’ Saturn 5 is at No20 at the half-way point of the week, while Friends of Jo Cox’s You Can’t Always Get What You Want is No59, Everley Pregnant Brothers’ Chip Pan is at No73 and Our Superhero (A Christmas Wish) by Liv’N’G is at No100, a track released to raise funds for the much-needed cancer treatment of 5 year-old Bradley Lowery.

A tribute to Labour MP Jo Cox, who was murdered during the EU Referendum campaign this summer, made its debut at number 138.
The London Hospices Choir - a team of volunteers and staff from 18 hospices across London - reached 81 with their cover of Mike & The Mechanics' The Living Years.
And Inspiral Carpets fans sent the band's 1994 single Saturn 5 to number 48, in tribute to drummer Craig Gill, who died earlier this year.
Fans of Rangers football club fared better, pushing Glad All Over by The Dave Clark Five back into the charts at 31, as a "thank you" to striker Joe Garner, who joined the club from Preston this season.

Basically, Clean Bandit, on its 7th week at number one.

lol @ such a shite footballer getting a tribute single, but I also like that as well.

calzino, Friday, 23 December 2016 22:58 (seven years ago) link

Funnily enough, number of new entries in the top 40 = none.

Mark G, Friday, 23 December 2016 23:01 (seven years ago) link

Next up: Honey G, number one? Or number none?

Mark G, Friday, 23 December 2016 23:02 (seven years ago) link

seven years pass...

Not starting a new thread, so this can go here:

British gambling company William Hill has stated that ‘Freezing This Christmas is “a serious contender to top the charts on Christmas Day”, with the company currently touting Wham! at 1/16 odds to take pole position (and which topped the charts last year) and Sir Starmer and the Granny Harmers at 12/1.

So, not a serious contender at all..
