niels, Friday, 6 January 2017 13:22 (nine years ago)

would vote for 'Work' if it was called 'WURGH' like it should be

nashwan, Friday, 6 January 2017 13:26 (nine years ago)

"Cheap Thrills" just over "Work." Not a great year for the top spot imo.

mega pegasus for reindeer (Doctor Casino), Friday, 6 January 2017 13:30 (nine years ago)

I like One Dance for the obvious reasons, which are able to mitigate Drake's obnoxiousness (I'll text you back when I feel like it, okay?)

But yeah this is Black Beatles

U2 (Drugs A. Money), Friday, 6 January 2017 16:01 (nine years ago)

Just 10 for the whole year? Wow.

Hey Bob (Scik Mouthy), Friday, 6 January 2017 16:04 (nine years ago)

any opinion on any of them scik?

low amount of #1s isn't really a new trend

lex pretend, Friday, 6 January 2017 16:09 (nine years ago)

I assumed I'd like Black Beatles but I just listened to it and it's wack

duped and used by my worst Miss U (President Keyes), Friday, 6 January 2017 16:11 (nine years ago)

listen to it again!

Lennon, Elvis, Hendrix etc (dog latin), Friday, 6 January 2017 16:46 (nine years ago)

"black beatles", "cheap thrills", and the biebers are alright. mostly an inoffensive bunch tbh, there's no "rude" this year (i don't really hate the chainsmokers like most people even if it's clear they're hacks)

k3vin k., Friday, 6 January 2017 18:34 (nine years ago)

yeh that synth hook wormed its way in my head for a fortnight but in the end it was p bad

Spottie, Friday, 6 January 2017 18:41 (nine years ago)

imo this is "closer"'s true form

who is extremely unqualified to review this pop album (BradNelson), Friday, 6 January 2017 18:48 (nine years ago)

"Black Beatles" is the best #1 since Taylor Swift's "Blank Space"

The burrito of ennui (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Friday, 6 January 2017 18:59 (nine years ago)

Steady airplay walloped me into liking Justin T's sunshine in his pocket, and "Sorry" is Biebs' best ode to being a dickhead. That's all I can handle.

Haha Brad otm

U2 (Drugs A. Money), Saturday, 7 January 2017 02:50 (nine years ago)

"Sorry"

Bee OK, Saturday, 7 January 2017 03:25 (nine years ago)

Black Beatles is one of the best #1s of the decade, hands down. Goons feel fre to ignore me (lol like I even needed to say anything) but for me the production feels so hypnagogic. And rtc otm about how perfectly the whole Mannequin Challenge captures the absolute spectrality of the track

U2 (Drugs A. Money), Saturday, 7 January 2017 04:14 (nine years ago)

since black beatles is obv gonna win i voted for one dance, another one of my fav songs of the year

i guess i would rank them

1 one dance
2 sorry
3 black beatles
4 work
5 closer
6 love yourself
7 cheap thrills
8 panda
9 pillowtalk
10 cant stop the feeling

ive truly never understood the hate for "closer" like aside from the fact that the chainsmokers themselves are fairly detestable as humans... i find it to be *easily* their most tolerable song? it's very easy to listen to and has a good chorus.

cheap thrills was one i wanted to dislike but it won me over. i think the one w/ kendrick that's sort of the sequel might actually be better tho.

J0rdan S., Sunday, 8 January 2017 02:07 (nine years ago)

"Black Beatles" is the best #1 since Taylor Swift's "Blank Space"

I think I agree with this but also I have not heard and refuse to listen to "One Dance"

a serious and fascinating fartist (Simon H.), Sunday, 8 January 2017 02:12 (nine years ago)

Personally I think the Chainsmokers' music is their most loathsome aspect

example (crüt), Sunday, 8 January 2017 03:22 (nine years ago)

everything good about "closer" is thanks to halsey, who unsurprisingly gets little reward

a self-reinforcing downward spiral of male-centric indie (katherine), Sunday, 8 January 2017 05:04 (nine years ago)

last two posts otm

p sure sorry was the only one of these i heard in 2016. just listened to black beatles and i thought it was underwhelming

dynamicinterface, Thursday, 12 January 2017 00:17 (nine years ago)

couple more times and you'll be singing along to all the ad-libs

Spottie, Thursday, 12 January 2017 00:19 (nine years ago)

Gucci Mane's keystone verse brings thankful tears to my eyes

example (crüt), Thursday, 12 January 2017 00:27 (nine years ago)

i mean i made it like 6 months without every hearing it so i'm probably good. i liked their first album plenty tho

dynamicinterface, Thursday, 12 January 2017 00:28 (nine years ago)

Lex: I think the only one I've knowingly heard is Sorry, which I thought was alright but not as good as Bieber's previous single. I'm almost completely out of the loop with chart hits since daughter arrived.
