listening to Gilles Peterson's set at the One Live thing in Nottingham the other week - at three points so far a Pitman announcement/jingle has come in - it appears Radio One got Pitman to record these ads to be deployed over several broadcasts (tho i didnt hear them on the Breezeblock, but it would be weird if they were only featured in Gilles show) during the event....curious!

additionally even tho that Dedbeat festy has been postponed Pitman is still apparently booked to perform at the rescheduled event in late Feb/early March

it'll ruin the whole thing if you actually *see*
him though, in much the same way as the 'united states of whatever'
song, was ne'er the same after i'd seen
a) the guy's face
and b) a press biog blethering on about
him being a 'renaissance man' who'd done all sorts
of this that and the other.

maybe you're right but i'm fascinated to see what he actually looks like and what he's planning to do on a stage...for some reason i always want to know what people look like

Have you heard "D'ya Get Meh?" yet, Pitman's take on Puff Daddy. Starts with "I'm sick off all these tossers that think Ja Rule's any good".

Ooh, where've you heard this? Any chance of shoving it on Soulseek? Everyone everyone everyone should get using the ILM room on there. That means YOU Blueskiboy.

"Roy Castle's come back to life to measure Craig David's chin for the Guiness Book of Records".

Pure genius.

i went in there once already but there was no one talkin (and only 2 others in there) - i'll check it out over the weekend though

hehe, that's a classic line. Dom, have you got a direct line to Pitman or did you buy it? Either way come on, mp3 it up for us all!

Blueski, put ILM onto your Autojoin list. The more people who do, the more chance of constant 24/7 smalltalk.

A whole load of my mates are planning to go see Pitman's debut live experience (something about him seems to click with bawdy Lancs alt.yobs). Are single day tickets available for this Dedbeat festival?

Is there a Pitman wesbite yet? I found an interview once, where he said he'd bought his pit from Arthur Scargill, but nothing else on him.

Ok, to answer my own qu Dedbeat only sells weekend tkts so I don't know if £90 is worth it to see the lowliest guy on the whole bill.

I've got a new Pitman track, I'm not sure if it's the one Dom goes on about above. He uses the same disses but there's no music, therefore it ain't no take on P Diddy. It's in my 'misc' folder on Ssk (id: nic_he_ian) but I can send it to that Gabba Net guy if he wants.

What I found was a remix of the aforementioned no backing track tune (the one about Giles Peterson and Tim Westwood getting in a bath together, right?) remixed with the "Every Breath You Take" muzak behind it.

Still a great song.
