C90: HipHop that isn't Hiphop

I'm currently compiling a compilation of some of the more "out-there" HipHop tunes. I'm trying to take everything from Autechre, BoC, Brothomstates and Gescom (i.e. Hiphop-based IDM), Nasenbluten and Hellfish (Gabba-Hop - a big fave of mine), Foreign language Hiphop, Weird-Hop like APC and Cloudead, and several funky straight hiphop tracks. As long as the style makes you sit up and listen and has the Hiphop "vibe", it goes. But then, the more fucked up the better. I'm thinking of doing some fun things with unlikely bootlegs.
Anyway, help me with suggestions to complete this shortlist:

DJ Assault: Ass'n'Titties

Autechre: Ccec, Cipater, Gelk, Milk DX (feat Busta Rhymes Woo-Haa!)

2 Live Crew: Me So Horny

MOP: Roll Call

Push Button Objects: Non-Existant (Gescom Mix)

Boards of Canada vs Anti Pop Consortium: Telephasic Soapscum

Cylob: Rewind!

ODB: Shimmy Shimmy Ya

Hellfish: Turntable Savage

Saian Supa Crew: Ils Etaient Une Fois

ยต-ziq: the Hwicci Song

Fu Schnikens: Ring the Alarm

DJ Producer: Rude Attitude

Nasenbluten: Cunt Face

Daft Punk: Something About Us

Articolo31: La Fidanzata

SAvath & Savalas: F Ride & Blues

Brothomstates: Qtio

Prefuse73: Radio Attack

woo-hah!

Killah Priest's "Heavy Mental" - no beat, just powerful words and atmospheric sounds...a beautiful song!

Praxis' "After Shock (Chaos Never Died)" - just Bernie Worrell's organ, DJ AF Next Man Flip and Bill Laswell dropping cuts and noises, and Buckethead tweaking...16 minutes, but somehow very hiphop

Cibo Matto's "Sci-Fi Wasabi" - Miho Hatori, possibly the only vocalist ever to rhyme "Obi Wan Kenobe" with "wasabi"

Well, in terms of Hip Hop that isn't really Hip Hop at all.....

"Test" by Ministry on A MIND IS A TERRIBLE THING TO TASTE
"Beers Steers + Queers" by the Revolting Cocks
"I'm the Man" by Anthrax
"Dee Dee is a Punk Rapper" by Dee Dee King (aka DeeDee Ramone)
"I Need Lunch" by Muckaferguson

...and the real winner....

"Deffest & Baddest by Ultrafly & the Hometown Girls (aka Wendy O Williams)

Oh, there's also MC FACE, who is Tom Green's (as in "the Tom Green Show," "Freddy Got Fingered," etc.) rap alter ego. Yes, it's as tragic as it sounds.

He was a rapper before he was a TV personality, though. He rapped under the name MC Bones in the early 1990s in Organized Rhyme. They were somehow connected to the Dream Warriors. Their album is surprising okay.

david h (david h), Wednesday, 6 November 2002 20:37 (twenty-three years ago)

How about that incredibly awful "Pills" song by Primal Scream?Disgusting.

Rahul Kamath (Rahul Kamath), Wednesday, 6 November 2002 20:41 (twenty-three years ago)

What, no dancehall? No Something J/DJ Maxximus? No Depth Charge? How about some Underground Resistance? Doc Scott's "The Drumz 2001" or Sonz of the Loop Da Loop Era. AUX 88!

vahid (vahid), Wednesday, 6 November 2002 20:46 (twenty-three years ago)

"Pavement - "Robyn Turns 26". I swear!!!"

"Robyn turns 26/just for kicks/though she still lives in Portland..."

Great song! Way too funky!

nickalicious, Wednesday, 6 November 2002 20:47 (twenty-three years ago)

haha.. Brassy!! hip hop for indie kids. who were featured on Emmerdale and are now soudntracking a mobile phone advert.

Wyndham Earl, Thursday, 7 November 2002 00:49 (twenty-three years ago)

Brassy were on Emmerdale??? Gawd, I turn my back for 6 months and *this* happens?

Anyway.

If you weant some very good foreign language hip-hop, try Orishas from Spain, and Deichkind, Fettes Brot & Funf Sterne Deluxe from Germany.

The Herd are an Aussie collective and they're very good indeed - much in the oddball Aspects/Fleapit/Nextmen mould, and none the worse for it.

Charlie (Charlie), Thursday, 7 November 2002 01:42 (twenty-three years ago)

the slum village remix of aerodynamic by daft punk.
also 'raise it up' by slum village which samples thomas bangalter. (both of these do end up sounding somewhat like 'conventional' timbaland/mannie fresh digital-hop trax tho.)

you might want to consider the myriad of bootlegs that layer a rap vocal over a non-hip hop track---
a really good one is dsico's love will freak us (missy elliot over joy division)
i also like the q-tip/michael jackson one.

foreign language hip hop: the avalanches track 'undersea community' features a japanese rap about fish (maybe) - make sure you get the longer version with the xylophone/percussion break down at the end.

minna (minna), Thursday, 7 November 2002 02:45 (twenty-three years ago)

ps you have to call the comp 'hip hop (not hip hop)'

minna (minna), Thursday, 7 November 2002 02:47 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't know if it's at all what you're looking for, but my suggestion is Curse (feat. Moby) from Recoil - Bloodline (probably from 92 or 93). I haven't listened to it in a long time though, so it might suck.

Kim (Kim), Thursday, 7 November 2002 02:58 (twenty-three years ago)
