Kind of shit.

Sounds like they picked up where they left off instead of where they started. Bleh.

Ride were always kind of shit, to be honest. Even Nowhere is a mediocre album at best.

oh to be honest

I try.
Every single track on that album strikes me as a songwriting failure, which wouldn't be a problem if the timbral textures held their own (spoiler: they don't).
To be fair, Isn't Anything and Loveless-era MBV is also prone to this affliction, say, 25% of the time. Self-titled is exempt and hence their greatest achievement in my book.
Perhaps you had to be there. I wasn't.

I was there but Ride never really delivered. They had their moments like "Dreams Burn Down" and "Crown of Creation". At the time I thought MBV were the most exciting and innovative band out there. And I still do. And wait for the next MBV album like a sheep waiting for the wolf.

Thinking back on my late teens, I remember forcing myself to listen to Loveless (among many other critically acclaimed albums, of which the most cringeworthy was undoubtedly Pet Sounds, by an abysmal margin), hoping to bask in its supposed genius, before realizing, far too late to preserve my self-respect, that 'Only Shallow,' 'Sometimes' and 'Soon' were the only tracks I genuinely enjoyed. Now that the dust has settled, I do appreciate it as a paean to the guitar, but it's no more than a 7/10 as far as I'm concerned.

I don't hear much of Ride in this new song but it's pleasant enough.

And what about "When You Sleep" and "I Only Said"? They are divine in their haziness and fogginess. The blast with which "When You Sleep" begins is about the most glorious moment of pop music.

That started somewhat promising but the chorus is awful. I think this one was posted today:

Sounds as if Pink Floyd circa '87 had invented shoegaze?

Birdman ep is p good tho
Their good tracks are dispersed throughout their discography
Nowhere maybe their strongest string of good to decent song after another

the first song does sound like something from their last studio album. the second song would not sound out of place on Today Forever.

Ride were great for a brief time, you people are high. what really made them was their drummer. Loz was a absolute beast on the drums and took them to whole different level live. saw them around twelve time because of that drumming.

Really warmed up to these two new songs. Liking the crisp production of the first one and the second is shoegaze catnip.
