Dunno if we've done a thread like this before.. Seems quite old-school ILM. But are there any songs which, on paper, should grate against your music taste and sensibilities but you can't help loving?
This thread inspired by Phosphorescent's 'Song for Zula'. Reed-thin, orchestral lumberjack indie that crawls along at a snail's pace and does very little throughout its 6+ minutes.. It's only a hop, skip and a jump away from something like Fleet Foxes or the Verve's 'Bittersweet Symphony'... And yet some days I just want to listen to it on repeat.
Are there any songs that transcend their individual parts or generific schema and work their way into your heart like this?
