Not even the main MBV fansite mentions this new act. Where did you hear about it?

Ned Raggett, Saturday, 19 May 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

it is reviewed on penny black's website in their magazine section. www.pennyblackmusic.com. it is all rather low-key which made me wonder if it was really kevin shields for this would seem to be monumental news.

did a little searching on the net. le volume courbe is a poptones signing. nothing mentions shields on the website. however, another poptones act, ping pong bitches, features both shields and phil manzanera on their debut disc.

Le Volume Courbe isn't Sheilds though A Quiet Revolution,Damien O'Neil's new record/group name was recorded at Shields studio and sounds like it too very MBV.MBV drummer Colm plays on Le Volume Courbe record.Harmony track i have yet to hear but NME said it was beautiful. There was a picture and it was a 3 piece with no Kevin S

two years pass...
Does anyone know if and when the LVC album is going to come out? I still love the single.

Something that really shits me is people who sell copies of the "Harmony" sinngle on eBay, billing it as Kevin Shields and Hope Sandoval. Colm is neither of these people, obviously, and all he does on it is play the bleeding drums. Grrrrr.

two years pass...
finally the first album surfaces after four years of waiting...it was more than worth it!

notice the punk rock cover art and delight in the most offbeat cover of Nina Simone you'll ever want to be on the radio...
