k3vin k., Friday, 28 April 2017 12:02 (eight years ago)

Sorry.

Frederik B, Friday, 28 April 2017 12:07 (eight years ago)

I love all of these songs a lot

At any given moment, I would shuffle the order of the top 4 songs in Lex's ranking but I agree those are the 4 best songs.

Rachel Luther Queen (DJP), Friday, 28 April 2017 12:27 (eight years ago)

The string outro of "Pray You Catch Me" still reminds me of "Come Back To Me." I can think of few higher compliments.

But I voted for "Pray" because no one else will.

insidious assymetrical weapons (Eric H.), Friday, 28 April 2017 15:35 (eight years ago)

Hold up is the only one that holds up

sleepingbag, Friday, 28 April 2017 16:21 (eight years ago)

sleepingbag is the only one that sleeps in bags

insidious assymetrical weapons (Eric H.), Friday, 28 April 2017 16:28 (eight years ago)

some sad trombone Twilight Zone shit (cryptosicko), Friday, 28 April 2017 16:35 (eight years ago)

this has always been love drought for me, tho this is my preferred version https://soundcloud.com/djleoatl/beyonce-love-drought-leonce-bounce-mix

i like pray you catch me & daddys lessons also, but this one has dwindled over time to me esp in relation to the s/t

J0rdan S., Friday, 28 April 2017 16:38 (eight years ago)

tho i'd guess i'd rate it

lemonade movie > s/t > lemonade album

J0rdan S., Friday, 28 April 2017 16:38 (eight years ago)

formation seems like the essence of this album whatever that means but my favorite tune is sorry

marcos, Friday, 28 April 2017 17:05 (eight years ago)

the one with the animal collective lyric

flappy bird, Friday, 28 April 2017 17:15 (eight years ago)

"daddy lessons" aka the most poignant distillation of and reflection on patriarchy in recorded music history

every track is essential tho and nearly all are great

dyl, Friday, 28 April 2017 20:58 (eight years ago)

Freedom, Formation, Daddy Lessons >>> everything else

rb (soda), Friday, 28 April 2017 21:24 (eight years ago)

Formation is the only one I don't get. It feels tacked on to me, like it's from a different record. And the tune has never struck me.

Hey Bob (Scik Mouthy), Saturday, 29 April 2017 05:15 (eight years ago)

Yeah I don't know how Formation could be the essence of this album, it feels very tacked on. But it's a great track, maybe even the best on the album in a vacuum. The one that never clicked with me is "Freedom"

For an album I only listened to a few times and thought was good not great, I'm surprised I can remember every single song. I bet in a year or so I will feel an intense urge to listen to it

oh shit i would've voted for that. think i forgot to vote

ToddBonzalez (BradNelson), Friday, 5 May 2017 00:05 (eight years ago)

song is like a bomb going off

ToddBonzalez (BradNelson), Friday, 5 May 2017 00:05 (eight years ago)

how can "Love Drought" have done better than "Don't Hurt Yourself"?

the Rain Man of nationalism. (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Friday, 5 May 2017 02:13 (eight years ago)

Easily. DHY is the album's second worst song and LD is top 5.

insidious assymetrical weapons (Eric H.), Friday, 5 May 2017 03:27 (eight years ago)

i love daddy lessons, but i would've voted for sorry above it here if only because the dixie chicks version of DL so obviously blows the original out of the water

austinb, Friday, 5 May 2017 03:30 (eight years ago)

"All Night" got my vote, I find it very emotionally affecting but I didn't know it was highly regarded here. Generally really happy with these results (although 'Pray You Catch Me' could use an extra vote or two)

bunny slopes, Friday, 5 May 2017 07:34 (eight years ago)

I tried.

this goes beyond "I disagree" territory into "this is wrong" for me

all night being so high in this poll makes me happy, def fav

Week of Wonders (Ross), Monday, 13 November 2017 06:26 (seven years ago)

seven years pass...

"All Night" has my favorite musical moment in any one of her songs: that Outkast horn section coming in as her falsetto breaks over it.

hungover beet poo (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Saturday, 12 July 2025 12:18 (three months ago)
