Has anyone outside of Providence even heard of Matt Brinkman?

This is a serious question. The guy's been involved in different bands/projects for years and years, and seems to get little to no recognition from people outside of Olneyville.

Search: Forcefield, Mr. Brinkman (Mystery Brinkman), Freak Zone USA, PPP, etc.

Dave--

Is that book of Brinkman's out yet? Terratoid Heights or whatever, published by Highwater Books? I think it was supposed to be out a while ago. Same with the Chippendale one.

Yes. I like his side of the Pleasurehorse split a lot.

Is Freakzone going to record ever? They should really do a DVD.

This past month's Comics Journal has a huge profile on Mat Brinkman as well as a bunch of the other Ft. Thunder dudes.

ahhhhhhhh! i love brinkman -- the art, the music, the publications, the way he played with lightning bolt on the sidewalk at the opening of no space gallery here and it was liek the best show anyone i talked to had ever seen, or so they said at the time. plus he gave me an ace 9-page strip for yeti 2, i was super psyched to run it. okay!

but from my perspective, the original post is weird 'cause forcefield was like on the cover of artforum a year ago, and they ruled the last biennial -- even a year ago, they'd already had huge art shows in nyc and stuff, right? maybe my chronolgy is fuct; i'll now refer to that 389-page article in the c.j...

Brinkman is pretty enjoyable / talented. Really odd that you mentioned Yeti 2. I just got a copy of that CD from a friend. Not bad.

hey...yetimike! dude, yeti rules. way to keep the print zine torch alive from the older school days. (not that there aren't a few other good zines out there... but, but, but...)

just wanted to shout that out.

returning to the topic though... that pataphysics lab link is dead and old... i believe it referred to this:
