This song is so good.
They were a gang in the Bronx, apparently, but a socially conscious one. The lead singer brokered a truce among all the gangs in the Bronx in the 70s. I don't understand this history very well. His name was Benjamin Melendez and he passed away very recently.
I'm sure other people on ILX know more about the Ghetto Brothers than I do. I created the thread in the hopes that they will share anecdotes and insights.
