I haven't actually read any Tolkien at all since 7th grade & didn't bother with the movies (yet another of the things I loved as a kid which I never returned to after I was done with it) but by God I love me some ridiculous fake-ass fleshed-out 8-bit dungeon cut-scene sounds and huge sweeping metallic mountainscapes, hoo-hah

Summoning's one of my favorite bands of all time but there's so much more...including this - obviously imo heavily inspired by Tolkien's synth interludes but really going deep with the concept

April Larson has done four scores for the Silmarillion - I have this one, it's nice:

Uruk-Hai is fucking dedicated to ambient synth, man. I got like three albums by that dude and I was like "oh I'm pretty into this dude" but no. He has 148 entries on Discogs.

This one is by Frodo, Pippin and Gandalf! (and VERY unlikely it's really from 1975...)

Numero's Darkscorch Canticles comp of hard rock obscurities had a fair number of things either referencing Tolkien or Howard. Here's a couple of the Tolkien ones:

Absolutely love the game. That said, the rules were hard to figure out. But the aesthetic and the cards were top notch.

seven years pass...

I just found this local Ottawa progressive band Avalon, from the 70s. Sure enough, they have a Tolkien song.
