The arcade fire album only lasts about a small fraction of your day. Not being a Barbie girl while living in a Barbie world is a lifetime of insecurity and feeling left out.

Being a Barbie girl, but not in a Barbie world seems like it would be worse than Not being a Barbie girl but living in a Barbie world. In both circumstances, you don't get invited to parties, but now it's because everyone thinks you're vacuous and dull, and maybe there aren't even any parties for a Barbie girl to go to, because life is neither plastic nor fantastic. Would anybody braid your hair? Would you eventually break down and stop being a Barbie girl, trade in your biologically impossible waistline for a frumpy cardigan, remain dressed all the time? Also I haven't heard the new Arcade Fire

thank you mark for making this thread because now i'm listening to Barbie Girl for the first time in ages and it's amazing

Haven't heard the new album either but now I'm terrified that it contains a lyric about not being a Barbie girl in a Barbie world. Maybe there's a singer who could pull that off but it's definitely not win butler
