Well "Blueprint," natch. One Last Wish was a pleasant surprise. The Shudder To Think one has grown on me. "They Live By Night" is a great song but doesn't really mesh with the surroundings. The Scream track was pretty great. I must admit I'm enjoying 20 Years more on a historical level than a musical one (I'm with RS's three stars a lot more than the 10 from Spin). Worst song? Probably Fidelity Jones. I wasn't quite ready for a Dischord jamband.

Egg Hunt! (Dischord's most underrated band--okay, they only ever put out one single, but still.) Slant 6! Minor Threat playing a reggae Government Issue cover! Even the bad stuff is almost all _interesting_ bad stuff--it illuminates the good stuff, since all the bands are the same like six people in different combinations.

I used know these kids who would drive by Dischord and yell "EGG HUNT SUCKED!"

the Scream track is ace, all dubby in that misunderstood punk-rock way. also love 'rock'n'roll bullshit' and 'live for now' and 'stolen youth' and all that real intense, paranoid hardcore that just eked oout that whole culture of uptight and righteous boys trying to navigate the disappointments and complications of adulthood with nought but the simplistic Dischord Book Of Morals by their side for comfort. excellent stuff.

Hoover were a great second tier Dischord band, but their track on the box doesn't do em justice. better to try 'cuts like drugs' or that third track on their patchy LP.

sxx

I think "Destructor" by Fidelity Jones is completely fantastic.

Void's "Dehumanized"! Actually, all the Void stuff on there is great, but that song d-stroys.

I'm currently loving 'drink deep' by the rites of spring and 'money' by embrace - to the extent where i bought the remastered albums of both yesterday even though i'm moving house on friday and have no spare cash.

impressed by the Rites and Happy Go Licky tracks, never heard them before...Shudder's "Red House" is great, i need to get more of that early stuff. the Smart Went Crazy track is one of my favorites but it doesn't feel right on the comp., i kinda wish they'd picked something different. same for Faraquet, actually. I like the SOA track just to hear a teenage Henry "Garfield" honing his yell.

you will not regret the rites purchase... 'end on end' - mmmmmmm!

I forgot to big up the Gray Matter and Dag Nasty tracks. Them's all kinda nice too.

The Fugazi track, "Blueprint" is such an amazing song. I'm really enjoying this Lungfish stuff too. Disc 2 contains most of the best material.
