Heard the song "Witching Hour" on the radio earlier tonight, and I've now listened to this album three times straight thru. Fantastic atmosphere, neato guitar (riffing and atmospherics).

I know there's a definitely market for this on ILM, but I'm terrible at hyping things. Just try it out.

I'm not familiar enough with Hanne Hukkelberg to have picked up on that, but it's a good song no doubt.

I love that she's not a shredder but still plays guitar in a very deliberately unconventional way. Sort of like St. Vincent, except you know Annie wants to break into a metal speed solo at any moment and stops herself.

Anyway, this song is super dope.

She reminded me surface level of Olsen but Madeline is far more dreamy, love the spectral nature combined with those guitars. Agree song is dope

I've listened to this album 3 times today. Totally took me by surprise. First track with it's Cocteau's style harmonies didn't prepare me for how much it rocks later on.

"cut me off" is the best song i've ever heard, this person is a genius

The rest of the album kind of drifted away from me in the end, but Cut Me Off is cemented as a lifelong fave for me.

I preordered the lp when Sucker came out, but it got pushed back to August along the way, so this renewed my anticipation.

It's pretty similar, maybe a bit more muscular and guitar-centric

The last one was drifty in a quiet way. This one seems more anchored? I dunno. That's the best I've got.

New EP just dropped. The title track "Summer Quarter" is great, but the others are also great. I continue to love her instincts and choices made as a guitarist.

The new album is simply lovely.

Funny how even though I understand Madeline didn’t work with Wye Oak on this one, it still sounds very post Wye Oak (in much the same way that the Japanese House sounds post The 1975).

i didn't even realize jenn wasner wasn't involved here, it doesn't sound markedly different from her wasner-produced work.

agreed that it's lovely. "it carries on" was the standout, at first blush.
