i think i've listened this part of the album maybe twice

The Grand Vizier's Garden Party is not better than I remember.

Perhaps, but The Narrow Way might be

Destroy the whole album.

Disappointed that Rick Wright couldn't come up with something better than Sysyphus, or even spelled it properly - the first part is not too bad I think.

More and Obscured by Clouds rule though, the latter being the most underrated Floyd album of 'em all.

"The Narrow Way" is good, the third part is a good song and the other parts are interesting at least. I'm a big fan of "Several Species", whereas "Grantchester Meadows" blows.

The Grand Vizier... Pt 2 is like all the tiny little edits from Mother's Of Invention albums strung together.

The opening of Tangerine Dream's "Atem" reminds me of "Sysyphus - Part 1".

If Wright had written 3 more of his tum-ti-tum, tea drinking psyche ditties instead of Sysyphus I'd have been much happier but I guess that time had passed.

Torn here... would like to say Narrow Way 3, but not sure it's the best version. Grantchester Meadows is ace.

Yeah probably. I don't think any official lyrics have ever been released. Just like how nobody really knows when the different sections of "Atom Heart Mother" begin and end.

How can anyone not love grantchester meadows
It is grade a fake syd
Also I hope someday I can visit its namesake

Same here, I've never heard "Ca Ira" but I'm willing to guess that "Several Species" is better than all 10 hours of it. "Grantchester Meadows" is seven minutes long, Donovan would have done it in two minutes and done it better.

I dunno if this disc rules...

something about Grantchester Meadows musically reminds me of It's All Over Now, Baby Blue (maybe even I Am Waiting too), in much the same way that Long Long Long reminds me of Sad Eyed Lady Of The Lowlands.

Ummagumma was my fave album ever c. Fall 1980 (recommended by Tuxedomoon in a Lou Stathis piece) and Astronomy Domine soon led me back to Syd. but by then I had Ambient 2 - game over for other albums, except briefly 154.
