A case could be made in your "Hey Jealousy" thread.

This one, not so much.

Thirded.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 29 November 2017 17:01 (eight years ago)

(Also, the Rush one takes on nearly unbearable poignancy given Peart of course wrote the lyrics, and a decade later both his (then) only child and then his wife died. The song was affecting to start with; it's almost a wrench now though at least he's found a new life and family.)

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 29 November 2017 17:04 (eight years ago)

The Rush song is great.

Josh in Chicago, Wednesday, 29 November 2017 17:07 (eight years ago)

They dusted it off for the Time Machine tour.

Time Stand Still came out near enough 30 years ago (maybe it was October)

Master of Treacle, Wednesday, 29 November 2017 18:06 (eight years ago)

Nope. the best song from the 80’s is either “Tarzan Boy”, “A little respect” or “dance hall days”.

✖✖✖ (Moka), Wednesday, 29 November 2017 18:07 (eight years ago)

Yeah, that rock classic 'Dance Hall Days'!

Gholdfish Killah (Turrican), Wednesday, 29 November 2017 18:22 (eight years ago)

Yep, I thought this would be about the Rush song, too, which would have been an interesting choice. The only Bad Religion song I even remember is "When I See You Smile" tbh.

Uh, Bad English, sorry.

OK, not only is this a nothing song, it was released in 1991. Wtf, ArchCarrier?

Shit, wtf indeed. Lock thread, I'm going to listen to that Rush song which I never heard.

I'm psyched this has become the thread for celebrating the Rush classic. Catching it live renewed my enthusiasm because I could enjoy the song without being subjected to the overly fussy late 80s production values from Hold Your Fire.

Moodles, Thursday, 30 November 2017 00:17 (eight years ago)

Sorry but the best song of the '80s is "Don Quichotte" by Magazine 60.

o. nate, Thursday, 30 November 2017 02:31 (eight years ago)

"Addicted to Love" by Robert Palmer is the best rock song of the 80s.
