Christmas Wrapping by the Waitresses, Classic or Dud

Horn section sometimes drives me nuts. Love it otherwise.

the first line is so great -- "Bah Humbug; now that's too strong!" I relate to it a lot. I'm always softening my statements with qualifiers.

this is my daughter's favourite Christmas record, she won't stop singing it. So classic, obv.

I don't like this song. I don't like the singing, and I don't like the melody. When it's on a Christmas playlist, I skip it, along with "Little Saint Nick" and "Wonderful Christmastime", two other duds.

So completely OTM, Tracy is a genius player, and the bass is tricky and beautiful and in another context would probably be analysed like any Bernard Edwards line.

yeah i'd agree that Davitt Sigerson's cut is possibly the best on the ZE comp; an incredibly heartfelt song about family that doesn't make you want to vomit is rare enough but one this good.. man alive.
