i thought i was going to hate the luciano mix because lol tribal bongo minimal but it's actually pretty rad! has kind of a classic boompty beat and just the right amount of electro lock and pop and is hypnotically minimal (in terms of structure) as opposed to annoyingly minimal (no awful mid 2000s computer sound palette)

also there's cool submerged chimes

re: the Moodymann remix of No Ufos mentioned upthread, I think the new vocals are a bummer. They sounded fine in the sample but I was let down when I got the thing in the mail. This is okay with me b/c I didn't have the original, though, and that Luciano version is surprisingly tasty.

yes they are groaningly corny ... but so are most detroit techno vocals? and so are the o.g. version vocals. so they have been growing on me.
