A good album I haven't heard in three yers. The title track or "Surface Envy."

Funny, I was just listening to "Dig Me Out." Sleater-Kinney was one of those bands I saw a million times, loved every time, meant a lot to me and I thought broke up at just the right moment. For that reason I don't think I gave this album any more time than I gave, say, the Wild Flag. Which was good! But which I can't remember a minute of, though I assume there are guitars involved.

Maybe I'll give it another shot. I recall it was pretty good!

solid little album and a good model for reunion records - unfussy, economical, impassioned

"A New Wave" has the video done by Lauren Bouchard with the Bob's Burgers characters, so I'll go with that.

Millennial Whoop, wanna fight about it? (Phil D.), Tuesday, 23 January 2018 15:33 (seven years ago)

Ooh, I haven't listened to this in a while either. Will need to revisit before I vote. That was a remarkable year for reunion albums. In particular remembering this, Failure, and Veruca Salt.

"A New Wave" would easily make my list of top 5 S-K songs.

A good album I haven't heard in three years.

lol exactly. "bury our friends" and "a new wave" are still exhilarating, but I need to listen again to remind myself about how much i love "surface envy" and "fangless." "gimme love" was fun live, but i haven't returned to the recording much

I also haven't really gone back to this, probs Surface Envy. Found it pretty weird live when the new singles got bigger reactions than stuff like 'Get Up'.

Just gave this a spin and Bury Our Friends is obviously the centerpiece.

A New Wave. What a riff-fest.

Finally threw a last-minute vote to "Fangless". The aggressive numbers--"Fangless", "No Anthems", "Price Tag", "Surface Envy", "Bury Our Friends"--have been a really fitting soundtrack to the Trump years.
