Could easily have gone for Golden Earring, ABC, or The Church.

Never Say Never is probably objectively the best, but I voted Wot.

It was between 'The Look of Love' and one other one, and I decided to go with the one that I wanted to listen to right now - so 'Talk Talk' it is.

One gripe: the comp used the censored version of the song for some reason.

What a fantastic series this is. New wave music is so fucking good.

XP The proper version of NSN landed on the JCGE New Wave Women set that dropped a few years later.

Twilight Zone is an odd inclusion, it's not new wave at all.

Never Say Never or Do You Really Want to Hurt Me, but possibly People Who Died. Of course, the ABC song is sublime, but I don't think it's fair to put it in the running.

I think these were designed with a US audience in mind, so Twilight Zone and Who Can It Be Now? were definitely considered new wave to our ears compared to, like, Journey and Earth, Wind & Fire.

Even if it is the edited version, I voted Never Say Never. I'm never not gonna vote for Never Say Never.

(Really it should be "Never Say Never" but...) One of the very few times I've heard a song for the first time and said "This should be an enormous hit" was "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me."

Actually, I saw the video, and the full thought was "This should be an enormous hit, and that is one unattractive woman."

the three of these that I've loved the most would be White Girl, the Look of Love and Numbers with Wings. doesn't seem right to call White Girl new wave, for me (never seen this studio footage with Ray Manzarek before), so ABC.

Maybe that young man was made uncomfortable by Josie Cotton's advances because she looked like Liza Minneli.
