i know the thing about summoning is that all of their records sound the same but even then oath bound is a weird record

Oath Bound is my favourite one, it has the best guitar tone and the least filler.

I actually think that while their songwriting template and basic melodies have been more or less identical for the past 23 years, there's a quite a bit of difference between Minas Morgul, Stronghold and Oath Bound in sound for example.

I assume everyone has heard the Ice Ages records? Richard "Protector" Lederer's over-the-top industrial/darkwave project where he apparently (used to) dump his material that's too dark/depressive for Summoning.

Been listening to Oath Bound, "Mirdautas Vras" is gorgeous.

absolutely one of the best bands of all time. I'm wearing a summoning shirt this very second lol. but I've found that, when recommending to friends, I usually get "too metal" or "not metal enough" depending on the friend. weak!

Peter Kubik from Abigor took his own life this week at the age of 49 - "past of both bands was inextricably interwoven during the 90s" per Summoning's obit on their FB page. No other details known.
