stone cold classic! i could probably vote for five or six songs off this thing and would have no regrets. i'm sure my choice would be different if i have not seen them like five times since this album came out. "Inside Out" might be the best song this band has done but hearing "Rainy Taxi" live a few times now, it's transcendent and easily gets my vote here.

i'm glad the Spoon poll was done after this album, it was perfect timing. even if it wasn't totally soaked in for me at that point.

Really like this band and this album. Inside Out is the safe choice and I’m usually a contrarian but it’s so good I don’t care.

I prefer Hot Thoughts (heard last night again; still dig it), but this has immense songs. Voted "New York Kiss" -- one giant hook.

Lots of great options but I went with "Rainy Taxi," which lives up to its title

outlier, mostly for the line about garden state. whole album is great though.

haven't listened to this in a while, but iirc the title track sunk its hooks in me for the longest

"I Just Don't Understand" was good live as they brought out Dale Watson at the show i saw. though i do agree with some here, it's the weakest song on the album.

I always thought of their music as somewhat minimal (surely all that empty space = less to worry about), but that podcast gave me an appreciation of how much is actually going on in their songs.

'Inside Out' is definitely a top 5 in their entire catalog for me as well.

me too, this is about right. it's almost the same as ILMs Spoon poll from up thread.

These days I think "Inside Out" is their pinnacle song, correct winner. I do wonder if it would do better if we did the Spoon artist poll over? It came out at 19, which seems robbed looking at it today.

I have no idea how Me And The Bean won that one.
