i found a really pretty/hypnotic female christian folk record that nobody has ever heard

i e-mailed the guitarist on it and he had completely forgotten that it existed. and he doesn't know where the singer is. i forgot to ask him when they recorded it. early 70s probably?

anyway, i dig it. the whole album is good. for fans of charming/homemade sounds of yesteryear.

i give you Krissy:

how's the album art?

great stuff! I figured some private press Xian specialist blog (heavenly grooves? the ancient star song?) would have megauploaded this album back in the day, but I can't find any references to it unless they're gone off the net. is there any info on the sleeve re: when/where she recorded this? and will you be uploading the rest of the album eventually?

Marj Snyder is still my favorite artist in this vein, but she was the Beatles/U2 of the movement, and I'm pretty sure anyone with even a casual interest in Jesus People music has heard some of her stuff

correction: Nancy Honeytree is the Bono of Jesus music (but she's not very good)

"how's the album art?"

the copy i got didn't have a cover but krissy signed one of the record labels to someone which makes me think there never was a cover? otherwise, why did she sign the label and not the cover...

yet another thing i forgot to ask the guitarist. but i can e-mail him again. he was happy that i liked it. he doesn't have a copy.

seems like even Discogs doesn't know about her?

omar little, Wednesday, 4 April 2018 17:45 (seven years ago)

yeah, it doesn't exist.

maybe this is a modern forgery and "Krissy" is actually some hip young indiefolk songstress like Linda Smith or Lois Maffeo?
