Julia Kent, Zoe Keating, and other ex-Rasputina cellists

Personally, I adore JK's Asperities and Character, though for some reason I haven't listened much to the rest of her discography.

As for ZK, I'm probably like a lot of people and heard her first through Radiolab. I like Natoma well enough, but it doesn't have the same brooding majesty that I find with JK.

Also, I'm wondering why ZK has such a higher profile than JK -- is knowing Jad Abumrad alone worth an extra million Twitter followers?

I think we're really living in a golden age of cellists. There are so many artists who are bringing an immense amount of compositional skills and
applying them to this, perhaps the most versatile of all string instruments. I love both Keating and Kent, but I'll probably give a slight edge to
the later as well. DELAY is just brilliant. Why she isn't scoring films is just ludicrous.
