You heard me. Does it get any better than Ante Up?

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 14 November 2002 08:24 (twenty-three years ago)

They're pretty ace although a bit repetitive on first listens. More of a one track on your mix tape kind of way - but a whole album is a lot to sit through. Search: Roll Call.

dog latin (dog latin), Thursday, 14 November 2002 08:54 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh god, classic in so many ways. Ante Up is one of their finest hours, but much else is worth searching. Definitely a singles band, mind.

Search: "Brooklyn Jersey", "How about some hardcore?", "Downtown Swinga" and "Stick to ya guns"

Destroy: Most of "Warriorz" apart from "Ante Up"

five years pass...

this is way, way way better done than this kind of thing usually is:

Setting that aside, "Ante Up" could easily be the most underrated rap song of the last decade. What else should I check out by these guys?

maybe the hardest MOP song ever:

if more modern NY rappers had more beats a bit faster like this, people might give more of a shit.
