that first one is the very archetype of 'song i first hear on ILM and think is okay but eventually gets beat over my head via radioplay until i hate it'

Mungolian Jetset with better PR.however, I will love this album once I get around to getting it.

― mark e, Thursday, 7 June 2018 15:33 (seven years ago)

― piscesx, Thursday, 7 June 2018 20:00 (seven years ago)
love the excess of piano house grooves.its just tune after tune.i am going to have to hold back on it, otherwise its easily an album i could overdose on.
― mark e, Thursday, 7 June 2018 20:05 (seven years ago)
and yeah, i stand by the "Deee-lite vs Mungolian Jetset" suggestion i made to someone when they told me i needed this album.

Saw them live last night - such an incredible show.
Think they played almost every song off the new album apart from Angry Girl and the club vibes are absolutely turned up to 11 live.
Holiday and Feels Like a Different Thing the standouts plus euphoric cover of DJ Sammy's Heaven to close the set but many, many others.
Definitely catch them if you get a chance.

Ridiculously fun set at Green Man festival on Saturday night. Choreography so on point. Agree with groovypanda - a must see.

irresistibly cheesy, and I love that the video is such a spot-on pastiche of 1999 trance tropes

Absolute banger. New album coming in October

I love this, but the video is a distracting gimmick, and they've been getting slaughtered on social media for what's been clearly some paid promotion on prolific Instagram accounts.

I love the new album. Mix of baggy Hacienda rave-ups and what sounds like big tent 10s EDM through an 00s Modular Records filter.

I remember checking out the first album when it was new and being pretty unimpressed and have ignored them ever since.
Until tonight, as I've decided to spin their most recent album out of curiosity for its 90s touchstones. It's damn good! And seems to get better and better as it goes on as well? I thought "So What" was quite irritating but it was a red herring, because then all the best songs crop up i.e. the entire remainder of the album. This is probably what I'd have liked the Magdalena Bay album to be.

Liked a bunch of their songs in the past but went down the rabbit hole today and listened to their whole catalog (plus remixes and live shows on YouTube). Really fun/joyous stuff, and they shamelessly wear their 90s dance influences on their sleeves.
“Sicko” is one hell of a nostalgia trip, sounding somehow like 90s Depeche Mode, The Beloved, Nine Inch Nails, Madchester, and a bit of the Trainspotting soundtrack.

New one with Jade (of Little Mix) feels like Vengaboys doing electroclash
― boxedjoy, Friday, 25 July 2025 07:15 (seven months ago)
I've been obsessed with their Orbital"re-lush" remix. Dabbled a little before but need to check the entire catalog

Been obsessed with these guys lately although I can’t say whether I really love them. There’s something off and artificial that kinda draws me in. A bit like a dancey Andrew WK

That's a good comparison. A little bit meta, but the material is strong and the delivery is a lot of fun. I like them a lot, and their live show is just brilliant

their dance remixes for other artists are great too (all available on Spotify)
I like the new collab they did with st etienne
