I am not a fan of Athlete, but does anyone else think they sound similar to Steely Dan? because the first i heard them on radio i thought they were are a blatant tribute band. just done a quick internet search and this came up:

Then again, Athlete hadn't even heard of Steely Dan until an A&R man pointed out the comparison and they went out and bought a couple of the LPs - and they still can't see the similarity.

I'm looking for the homepage cos they're this week's Real Music Martyrs DJ M. The homepage kindly played me some of their tunes and I thought they were a bit rub. And no, I don't listen to Xfm.

Oh I think I know that one. They don't sound anything remotely like Steely Dan btw so I think we can give the Athlete boys the benefit of the doubt on the rip-off claim.

Yeah a bit of airplay over here, it's a bloody awful song. I remember hearing it for the first time in on the radio my sister in law's car in London, he sang the first lyric and my brother and I were like "hmmmm"
