This is a rare Joanna Newsom track that I don't particularly love, the weakest song on an otherwise amazing album, and extremely long to boot. But I'm giving it a listen, and by golly, I'm going to pick my favorite minute.

Minute 6 is pretty good, but I think we can do better

It's definitely 12 - 13, mostly because it doesn't have too much orchestration, and features some of her most direct and emotionally raw singing. But yeah, this song is pretty tough going overall.

7:01-8:00

Only Skin has been my favorite song in the last ten years, without really ever changing.
My favorite part has always turned around the 5-8 minutes mark, 5-6 goes from I'm the happiest woman among all women to the "So long" long note so it's a pretty good minute (and gets my vote). The end and its glorious construction is obviously awesome too. I remember the die-hard fans flocking to say the duo was the best thing ever. But the main themes are given in 5-10 (if we cut it in three).

Minute seven all the way for reasons mentioned upthread -- and the fact that the tune for that section is just exquisite.

I was going to vote for either 6:00 or 11:00, but then I remembered how the song reaches a new level of delicacy and scope when Bill Smog comes in with the banjo at about 13:30.

(Not 11:00, I meant 10:00, if only because the line "heartbroke and inchoate" ALWAYS leaps out at me.)
