I put this in the Twin Cities thread and then figured maybe they should have one of their own.
Saw them last night in a tiny club in Chicago. Between being featured on Twin Peaks and opening for Jenny Lewis, looks like they're getting bigger. Also getting more 60s garage/pop as they grow. Great live show.

I thiiiink I've seen them a couple of times at the Hideout here, always opening for someone. At one point they were a little ... Chris Issak-y? Tom Brosseau?

Very much like both! All three can be on the line of being too retro and technically precise and reticent, and then the right song turns all of those into assets.

The first album was very Hank Williams-y, the second was pure Everlys. Excited to see what they land on next.

I also saw them as an opener, in our case for Nick Lowe and Los Straitjackets on their Christmas tour. They were good. I love "Mississippi."

Bought the album based solely on the TP performance and it has become one of my faves.

They are *great* live. I saw them as headliners and they played a surprisingly ambitious setlist, ~20 songs over 90 minutes. They hinted at label troubles.
