f- in hell !

piscesboy, Thursday, 14 November 2002 18:21 (twenty-three years ago)

Look, this is disturbing, yes, but it's kind of dumb for us to be gawking at this and whispering to each other about what a freak he is and whatnot. it's really just a tragedy that someone with so much talent crumbled under the pressures of fame and constant media attention. just imagine if you could never live a normal life again, and everything you ever did was plastered all over the media for the whole world to see. I bet you'd be insecure and neurotic too.

Manny Parsons, Thursday, 14 November 2002 19:00 (twenty-three years ago)

This is photoshopped, right?

so, Thursday, 14 November 2002 19:03 (twenty-three years ago)

Nope. It's on the BBC site among other places, so unless something has really slipped through the cracks...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 14 November 2002 19:21 (twenty-three years ago)

Is it true that he got his pubic hair grafted on to his face because he couldn't grow facial hair?

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 14 November 2002 19:35 (twenty-three years ago)

Is it true he did a duet with Paul McCartney? *shudder*

James Blount (James Blount), Thursday, 14 November 2002 20:24 (twenty-three years ago)

I saw a different photo in the free subway paper earlier today, and I thought "man, his pretty face has gone to hell". This full-colour version is even more grim. Fair warning to those considering plastic surgery to make themselves more beautiful. (Pam Anderson should have been enough...she was actually kinda cute before all of her "enhancements".)

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Thursday, 14 November 2002 20:32 (twenty-three years ago)

Dammit Sean! Now you tell me.

And Manny-- Sorry I offended your ever-so-slightly more-rightously indignant sense of right-and-wrong.

Aaron W, Thursday, 14 November 2002 20:47 (twenty-three years ago)

Who is the white man standing behind him picking at his eye?

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 14 November 2002 20:54 (twenty-three years ago)

I saw a not-so-close-up version of this pic this morning. On the plus side, I'm glad that's a Van Dyke he's got happening, because in the farther away pic I saw, I thought all the skin below his nose was falling off (it said he was wearing a surgical mask when I showed up at the courthouse).

Vic Funk, Thursday, 14 November 2002 22:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Bloody hell, I'm not a fan but that is literally tragic. Look at this:

http://home.c2i.net/mjj/bilder/coverotw.jpg

How did this happen? Did no one around him have the nerve to say "Michael, that is really not a good idea"? Or would he have just replaced them with sycophantic leeches pandering to his Peter Pan fantasies? I appreciate that this is not an original thought but his life must be fucking weird.

Mike (mratford), Thursday, 14 November 2002 22:57 (twenty-three years ago)

everyone automatically assumes he did this to make himself conventionally prettier => this theory is surely undermined by the lyrical content of his songs, and the general direction of his videos since thriller

mark s (mark s), Thursday, 14 November 2002 22:59 (twenty-three years ago)

sorry but you're saying the same stuff on ILE without ANY explanation so yeah...explain yerself!

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 14 November 2002 23:01 (twenty-three years ago)

*thinking abt jacko's singles in the 90s. sorry just got it (i think).

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 14 November 2002 23:02 (twenty-three years ago)

explanation of similarity between stuff on ilm and ile = i didn't change my mind in the two or three minutes between the two posts, julio

"i am the damned, i am the dead, i am the agony inside a dying head"

mark s (mark s), Thursday, 14 November 2002 23:11 (twenty-three years ago)

wtf is up with his nose???

Curtis Stephens, Thursday, 14 November 2002 23:44 (twenty-three years ago)

looks like the rubber nose-tip rumours might be true...

your null fame (yournullfame), Friday, 15 November 2002 00:20 (twenty-three years ago)

Well he showed up late to court today and tried to get his lawyer to have the court photographer thrown out.

James Blount (James Blount), Friday, 15 November 2002 00:27 (twenty-three years ago)

Ermmm... anyone who's been following League of Gents closely might remember that Babs the taxi driver and David, Edward and Tubbs's son are to have a baby...

I have a bad feeling about this

Which one is MJ?

Curtis Stephens, Friday, 15 November 2002 01:09 (twenty-three years ago)

scary thing = yet the eyes are the same

bob zemko (bob), Friday, 15 November 2002 04:13 (twenty-three years ago)

Damn, that's a shame. Does anyone remember that interrogation scene in "Three Kings"? That photo says it all.

Brenya, Friday, 15 November 2002 04:15 (twenty-three years ago)

mark may certainly have a point. and what of the number of people who get surgery to make themselves look more animal like (stripes, tongue splits, patterned markings, facial structure alteration, those leopard men people. i mean, thats a more extreme than what jacko has done. 20 years down the line, what of their appearance.

also, when mj started plastic surgery it was at its beginnings and perhaps wasnt seen as negatively as it is today? certainly, a gradual process, which others did too, at the beginning surgeons couldnt have known he would take it much further than the others...

gareth (gareth), Friday, 15 November 2002 10:21 (twenty-three years ago)

You might find this interesting...

I'm actually starting to get kind of bored by the whole MJ thing... Who can we pick on next?

dave225 (Dave225), Friday, 15 November 2002 12:18 (twenty-three years ago)

one thing to say, the scary icky stuff peeling off his nose is actually tape which he put over his nose to hide the surgery scars. but still....and to curtis stevens, don't know which is MJ, maybe he has an alter ego.
