About a minute or so into this Beastie Boys song (off "Ill Communication") some dude yells out, "Shit, if this gonna be that kinda party, I'm gonna stick my dick in the mashed potatoes!"

Allegedly, this is the punchline to a joke. Anyone know the beginnig?

It's from a Richard Pryor routine (off of "Craps: After Hours", I think...?) I can't remember the set-up though. It may be one of those routines where he just pretends he's tripping on acid (which is funnier than my lame description sounds).

its very funny when you hear it on the album!

Is it Biz yelling that? Sounds kinda like him.

I do not own the Ill Communication, but I find the line to be hilarious on its own, outside the context of any set up. Dubly funny if I imagine the line is indeed being delivered by Biz Markie.

or k-rob, whichever is the cypress hill one (k-rob is k-rub)

No, it's most certainly Richard Pryor's voice delivering the "dick in the mash potatoes" line, still one of the top classic B-Boys well-placed-sample-moments (with the "I'm goin' back to New York City I do believe I've had eee-nuuufff" Bobby Dylan sample right up there with it).

It's been so long since the B-Boys have come out with anything, I nearly forgot how much I loved every one of their albums. However, I'm not sure what it is about it, but Ill Communication hits me harder than any of the others...maybe it's the presence of the Tibetan monks, maybe it's the tasty instrumentals (Eddie Bobo! Money Mark!), maybe it's the weird scattered-focus of the album, but it's one of my all-time favs.

oh i meant the 'b boys makin with the freak freak' line from beat bop, i thought maybe they got biz mark to redo it

Oh yeah, the "B-boys makin' wit da freak-freak" line is most certainly the Biz, I swear he has the catchiest most awesome voice ever. Even his doesn't-know-the-words-can't-hit-all-the-notes vocals on their version of "Benny & the Jets" on the Sounds of Science comp is groovalicious!
