shaped as cats and postmen (unregistered), Monday, 16 July 2018 03:50 (seven years ago)

those are not covers

ridiculous assertion. all of these numbers were originally written and performed by God (and/or "the universe") so Ned Raggett's performances would be covers by definition (unless you're starting with the assumption that Ned Raggett is God)

shaped as cats and postmen (unregistered), Monday, 16 July 2018 03:56 (seven years ago)

they are public domain interpretations of god’s intent. they’re not even hymns.

flappy bird, Monday, 16 July 2018 04:16 (seven years ago)

damn, beat to it

all i can add is that dick hyman recorded a number of ragtime piano records under the delightful pseudonym "knuckles o'toole", but he plays piano on those, not moog. (also apparently dick hyman was on tv with bird and diz in '52. did not know that!)

Arch Bacon (rushomancy), Monday, 16 July 2018 04:25 (seven years ago)

there's also this release but i haven't heard it so i have no idea if it is, in fact, ragtime moog

I have always wanted to hear Brick Layer Cake, Todd Trainer's fantastic one man gloom-glam band, cover Kiss's "Lick It Up"

"Liiiiiiick................iiiit............uuuuuuuupp"

I even asked the man directly if he would and he responded, "I'm only familiar with their earlier material".

Buddy Holly should cover "I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do"

Hazy Maze Cave (Adam Bruneau), Friday, 20 July 2018 16:51 (seven years ago)

A dumb idea I had last year when thinking about bands with 2-guitar attacks: somebody should cover Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere in the style of 81-84 King Crimson, and Discipline in the style of '69 NY/Crazy Horse.

Would have loved to hear the Bad Seeds or Einsturzende Neubauten cover Bob Nolan's Cool Water. Maybe Spiritualised too.

Tiny Tim covering Cher's "Believe"

Hazy Maze Cave (Adam Bruneau), Saturday, 21 July 2018 14:12 (seven years ago)

might be a wee bit difficult

fuck the NRA (Neanderthal), Saturday, 21 July 2018 14:20 (seven years ago)

I can absolutely hear it though. they have very similar registers. I'd love to hear Cher do Tiptoe Through The Tulips

Gâteau Superstar (dog latin), Saturday, 21 July 2018 14:24 (seven years ago)

yeah it's the delayed vibrato mostly.

it is kinda sad that Tiny Tim died playing that song on stage

fuck the NRA (Neanderthal), Saturday, 21 July 2018 14:25 (seven years ago)

I was not aware of that

As usual you are wrong.

fuck the NRA (Neanderthal), Sunday, 22 July 2018 20:33 (seven years ago)

Meant that as a response to "he didn't but hilarious dead person joke"

fuck the NRA (Neanderthal), Sunday, 22 July 2018 20:34 (seven years ago)

you said he was singing "Believe" the song by Cher in an attempt to zing me for suggesting the song. you are wrong. you have just proved yourself wrong.

Hazy Maze Cave (Adam Bruneau), Tuesday, 24 July 2018 20:14 (seven years ago)

i guess some people use this message board to shoot the shit about music, some people use it to make their dicks hard about owning people on the internet wow congrats on being a huge dick

Hazy Maze Cave (Adam Bruneau), Tuesday, 24 July 2018 20:15 (seven years ago)

ah i see you were responding to somebody else's comment and triangulated that into a zing about me. brilliant work, dude

Hazy Maze Cave (Adam Bruneau), Tuesday, 24 July 2018 20:18 (seven years ago)

I didn't say he sang Cher's "Believe", I was talking about "Tiptoe".

You know...the song dog latin literally referred to in the post directly above mine?

fuck the NRA (Neanderthal), Tuesday, 24 July 2018 20:23 (seven years ago)

yeah going and re-reading that, it makes sense. we both actually agree on the facts here, likely always have. but when you come out saying "You are wrong" then that instantly puts me on the defensive. i knew he died singing "Tiptoe", i thought you were just trolling me or something. sorry if i jumped at you there.
