I've praised Meg Bowles here before, she's been releasing self-published albums of lovely ambient music for the last 25 years. She herself labels her records as new age, but they're mostly just deep electronic drones with no hippie trappings (not that there's anything wrong with that), and wouldn't feel out of place if they were released by a label like, say, FAX or Apollo.Anyway, her newest album came out recently, and I'd say it's it's the best of her career, just some lovely, slow and serene soundscapes. I can't imagine hearing more beautiful new music this year. If deep, droney ambient is your thing, it's well worth checking out.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQKP0PovSBk

sounds good, will check it out
btw is there a good site/resource for finding out about new ambient releases? I always stumble upon these records by accident (abul mogard is another example) makes me wonder how many great albums i'm missing...

I dunno, but I'd be interested in such a site as well. These days I tend to find new ambient artists quite randomly too, mostly by browsing Bandcamp.

There are a couple of labels I like that that put out consistently interesting ambient/drone releases, Hibernate and Home Normal, both on Bandcamp.
