Thats enough of my life wasted on typing out. Not a bad list but VERY Mojo :)

Tom (Groke), Friday, 15 November 2002 13:09 (twenty-three years ago)

Is that not a bit like blaming water for being wet?

tigerclawskank, Friday, 15 November 2002 14:32 (twenty-three years ago)

I wonder what is the percentage of these songs their makers have at some point denied being "about drugs". Quite high (haha) I should think.

Jeff W (Jeff W), Friday, 15 November 2002 14:38 (twenty-three years ago)

*quick glance* not much dance music but then again that's very mojo.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Friday, 15 November 2002 15:47 (twenty-three years ago)

I guess it means that Mojo's never been E'd up.

Aaron W, Friday, 15 November 2002 15:52 (twenty-three years ago)

Would've put Higher than the Sun at number one myself.

Other tracks they missed off the 100 include 'Junko Partner' by Dr John (though they've got another version of it) and, if you're including booze, 'White Lightning' by George Jones (and The Fall).

James Ball (James Ball), Friday, 15 November 2002 16:30 (twenty-three years ago)

missing-
White Light/White Heat-VU
What is Aratane?- Urge Overkill
Alcohol-Butthole Surfers
Pussy,Cars,Dope,Booze- Butthole Surfers
Feel Good Hit Of the Summer-QotSA

Baron Von Muselix (Baron Von Muselix), Friday, 15 November 2002 21:04 (twenty-three years ago)

when you do ANY list so much is missed that its not worth doing.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Friday, 15 November 2002 21:08 (twenty-three years ago)

What, no dub?

o. nate (onate), Friday, 15 November 2002 22:09 (twenty-three years ago)

Did they include JB's "King Heroin"?

Nate Patrin (Nate Patrin), Friday, 15 November 2002 22:18 (twenty-three years ago)

Warren Zevon - Johnny Strikes Up The Band

Too many guitars on this list. I'm not a strict popist but I can only take so much of the Mojo stance.

Tom Millar (Millar), Friday, 15 November 2002 23:43 (twenty-three years ago)

(did anyone else see the doomed-drug-cycle-canon piece in vanity fair's music issue? that was plain awful. mojo may be nostalgia hounds but the vf staff one-up them by apparently never having heard any music by anyone ever. i liked tosches's warner history though.)

jones (actual), Saturday, 16 November 2002 00:31 (twenty-three years ago)

How bout "Put The Coke on My Dick", "Mushroom Festival in Hell", and "Puffi Claude" by Ween?

Helltime Producto (Pavlik), Sunday, 17 November 2002 22:05 (twenty-three years ago)

Black Money White Powder is easily the best drug related track. The breakdown with the cutting/sniffing sounds and the whispered You can hear the music louder...with the forces of white powder is priceless.

Siegbran (eofor), Sunday, 17 November 2002 22:40 (twenty-three years ago)

"Bananas and Blow" (also Ween, natch) should be in there somewhere.

o. nate (onate), Monday, 18 November 2002 17:22 (twenty-three years ago)

Grandmaster Flash?

Roger Fascist (Roger Fascist), Monday, 18 November 2002 17:30 (twenty-three years ago)

jimi tenor "total devistation". every monster magnet, fu manchu and kyuss song. and any song that has no lyrics, it's safe to asume is inspired by drugs. sublime also had a few.
