And we have mop-up! Volume #23, released in 1996, kicks off the final series of HAND albums, and consists mostly of tracks from the middle years of the decade that for whatever reason weren't included on earlier installments.

Sweet all the way

Yeah, covering 1971-1977 seems odd. No country crossovers or novelty numbers this time (although I guess "Hocus" and "Tubular" are novelties of a sort) and a lot of second tier stuff. Totally "Fox" for me as well.

Also, I had never seen Focus Shreds vid. Dying...

"Fox on the Run" easily. I assume that's the Exorcist section of "Tubular Bells"--still like that too. When we were doing our Halloween parade around the school today, I was trying to get the principal and another teacher to play either that or the Halloween theme over the P.A.; we got "Ghostbusters," "Thriller," and "The Monster Mash" instead.

No country crossovers

'amie' is more or less country

"Gonna fly like a bird on the wing
hold onto your hat honey
sing! sing! sing!"

I'm helpless in the face of an ecstatic slow build.

Hideous Lump, Thursday, 1 November 2018 01:31 (six years ago)

Amie for me.

that's not my post, Thursday, 1 November 2018 03:09 (six years ago)

Kiki Dee Band (possibly UK Spotify only):

May vote for this; as rock songs with orchestra and a big, brassy lead vocal go, it's hard to beat.

Hocus Pocus has a bad ass guitar riff, one of the best. You got to have an awesome riff to have a hit song on a track following yodeling and not having Slim Whitman.

I believe they used it in some commercials for the World Cup a few years ago.

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

“Hocus Pocus” easily. An absolute scream.

Mr. Snrub, Tuesday, 6 November 2018 01:09 (six years ago)

I really hate to ask this, but I probably won't be able to run the next two polls due to a private issue. So they are up for grabs.

Can post the last two if you/others want. Pic + blue writing + a poll + a narrative in one post may be beyond me though.

Jeff W, Wednesday, 7 November 2018 15:01 (six years ago)

Really all you need is the tracks. The rest is just bonus stuff.
