Does Bob Weston sing "Shoe Song" on 1000 Hurts?

Yes.

During the bit that goes "do you get the same jokes as me, do you get the jokes the same as me" I can hear another voice very quietly which is presumably Steve singing along, a long way from any microphone.

I have no clue.

I do know that Rye Coalition impressed me more than Shellac when they played together at theBlack Cat in DC a month or so ago. Then again, every time Rye Coalition opens for anyone around here, I usually just watch them, and after that I've already been rocked to the max, so it's kinda pointless to stick around and watch Mr. Albini be super-angular-speaker-damage guy.

we've become everything we once hated.

yeah but didn't we deserve a look at you.. er.. forget it.

I once saw Shellac play a show on the 3rd floor of some warehouse in Baltimore & am pretty sure my hearing has been damaged ever since. thank you, steve albini !

When Shellac played in L.A. at the Knitting Factory almost two years, I remember thinking it was one of the quietest rock shows I ever attended. The mix was well done and everything, but I remember expecting to be blasted, and wasn't at all. Well that and Bob being heckled by a lot of people whose recording walkmans he confiscated before the show.
