three I think! I posted to the thread when it first appeared. does she have songs that sound like they pay more than lip-service to flamenco or will I have to stick with Nino De Elche (who isn't in ANY year-end lists, rather scandalously) for my actual nuevo-flamenco thrills?

the singles weren't too representative of the album, the rest is much heavier on the flamenco (though no idea whether it'd be enough for you)

'party here' is a nice track, might make my top 25

only heard three of these artists so far, will give the rest a listen this arvo

I'll be honest and admit I don't know enough about flamenco to answer that, it was more the "anaemic dime-a-dozen chartpop" aspect I disagreed with (maybe try this). fwiu, her previous album is more steeped in flamenco and less pop.

Octavian's singles were all excellent, but then I found his mixtape to be too dour to really enjoy

grace carter - completely insipid shit, the cocodamol of the masses

flohio - not too bad, could do with a bit more personality but yeah would check out an album

dermot kennedy - a hurley, smashing a human face, forever

king princess - mauled to death by actual trans people might be a start

mahalia - mixed feelings. basic af on first impression but there might be something there

ella mai - by the end of the first chorus i was already thinking of a parody video where the object of her affections is buddha. I'm a bad person and this is not a great song

have spent today in a mad mood charging around london but this was all a bit inexcusable still

have been able to relax and reflect at home and there's a few things i'd want to walk back, chiefly the king princess comment, which was completely unwarranted, deeply problematic and not my battle to fight (not that there's even a battle TO fight here)

also, octavian and slowthai aren't teacher's pets they're quite charming

sea girls are still the literal worst thing since the last male-fronted band that started with an s and ended 'girls', whom they are basically a reboot of
