We need a series of these pop song breakdowns.

I don't know I like how the melody dips unexpectedly at the chorus.

Enochroot, I may do a similar thread for, say, "Karma Chameleon" but anyone can and should post similar things.

I was reminiscing about this thread from, gah, 12 years ago

You know that part of Led Zeppelin's "Fool in the Rain" where they come out of the silly Latin section back into the main piano riff and there's like a steadily rising drum roll and

And remembered the fine concise formula of MarkR's "the only thing bad about this song is that it ends."

Great thread. Going with the prechorus melody but also because I like the chords there.

Forgot to make an entry for the use of spin delay on the vocal in the outro. "Promises (ses)(ses)(ses)" 3:23 - 3:39. That can be in the "other" bin I guess, along with campreverb's suggestion of the chorus melody.

two years pass...

New album! Was in the mood to Spotify their first, and found 2021's _Disguise the Limit_. And it's great!

Given that Rob Fisher died over twenty years ago, is it in reality a solo album by the other guy?

Yep, just Pete's material, released under the band name. Sounds very much a continuation to me.

There's a 2007 "Fumbling with the Covers" covers release I missed, too.

Holy shit why did nobody tell me there was a remix featuring Madonna?

Someone was like "you know the version featuring Madonna, right?"

Put that shit straight in my veins
