i didn't know Tame Impala was big enough to headline, things have changed for them.

i know very little about the electronic stuff, but otherwise this is a pretty great lineup, i think.

My 11yo stepkid is a fan of Khalid, and I didn't introduce her to his music, which means he really is that big imo. She's my barometer by who's actually famous these days lol. Other acts on this bill she's into: Ariana, Zedd, Billie Eilish, Kero Kero Bonito, Blackpink.

Also not that I’m ever in a position to go to this thing but I’m a big fan of the 2019 lineup, I can chart a reasonable course through Friday’s acts that would basically be heaven for me

Blackpink's live performances can be patchy but they're kind of killing this set. A good show for K-pop's Coachella debut.

I wondered at first why Childish Gambino didn’t come out for “Break Your Heart...” — they’ve been talking about that — but my guess is they’ll do it the 2nd weekend, when Diddy/Ma$e aren’t there.

A loud helicopter woke me up around 3:30am, and I was convinced it was one of those high-rollers flying back in from Coachella (maybe landing at Van Nuys)... sort of shook my fist, lol... now I don’t know why I was so convinced (but I’d still bank on that hypothesis).

I know a guy who’s gone for 8 years straight... when I chatted with him about it last week (as he was getting ready for this year), he didn’t seem to really even know who was playing... I guess ppl just buy tix for the “experience”?

This was an incredible weekend, maybe the best in all the years I've gone. Thinking about going back for the second weekend.

It’s almost a fact by now that almost everyone at Coachella are there fueled by social media and the music is just background noise. If you’re in there solely for the music there’s 10 other festivals nearby where you can see the same artists for 1/4 of the cost.

well, there obviously aren't, because of radius clauses. or on the other hand, it's a year since the festival and the new lineup of Soulwax haven't played the US outside of California.
