Sonic Youth's mysterious music videos

For some reason on Kazaa I can only find the same 3 Sonic Youth music videos no matter how many times I look, and even stranger, none of their videos are listed on Launch.com. Yet, I keep hearing about them. For one thing, Ive heard that some of them have been played in Music Video Film Festivals and such, for videos that are well-done. Also, Maculy Culkin was in one with his new wife, and the girl from the Lost Boys was in one. And someone once said they made an entire album of videos.

Does anybody know what's going on?

They made all of their Goo album into videos, and they also released a video of videos to accompany the Screaming Fields Of Sonic Love 'best of' comp. I'm fairly sure both are still in print.

those tapes are also going to be on DVD early next year when they roll out those new reissues...

can we talk about the Titanium Expose video? the periodic table of elements! creepy Kim'n'Thurston makeout session! fake Sonics miming the feedback finale!

damn man, almost all their videos except the Goo ones are on their fuckin website.

Check the most obvious places first.

There's a Richard Kern DVD (which is phucked) and video that includes one (or more?) Sonic Youth videos.

I've managed to get plenty SY vids from Soulseek. If you search for *.mpg, *.avi or *.mov you can find loads of great videos after you've sifted through the pr0n.

I saw "Candle" on MTV Classic yesterday. An upside down burning car at night and an upside down rabid dog are evil.

Shit, I think I've got a cameo in "Teenage Riot." Everybody's in that fucking video.

Well, now that I know that they're out there, and there's a lot of them...

Which ones are good, which ones are bad? Explain some of the better ones...

I love "Teen Age Riot" myself. It's an indie fetishists paradise. "Bull In The Heather" has Kathleen Hanna dancing, and Beavis And Butthead thought she grabbed Lee Ranaldo's wang. "Death Valley 69" is silly fun.

On the flipside, "Little Trouble Girl" is stunningly uninspired. Like Kim!

six years pass...

has anyone seen the "sleeping awake nights" documentary? looks cool, i'm just deciding if it's worth staying up late (lol) for.

this is like that scene in The Royal Tenenbaums when the kid Bill Murray's studying points to the beat-to-shit cab and says "that car has a dent in it".
